How fast is your boot time?
I get about 10 seconds.

About 13 seconds for me, but compared to 45 seconds, it's well worth it.

That's really good. I get 10-15 seconds, depending on the weather.

Yep, probably one of the best/most noticeable upgrades you can do for a pc.

it takes about 5 seconds from power off for password prompt, about 6 after that for full desktop

It's not just the boot time. Run some programs on it and you'll also notice it being snappier! Congrats!

I know that feeling, I built a new PC yesterday because my laptop was 4 years old.
I'm still using the old hard drives for data storage and they're sooo slow I think I'll save up for a 1TB SSD.
and installing windblows from a USB 3.0 drive? hot damn i didn't even have time to wait for the kettle to boil

I need to do this. I have a 250GB one but my current drive has 270gb of data. Need to clean it up and make an image.

Yep... if you want to improve the speed of your system, especially on laptops, replacing the cheap OEM hard drive with an SSD is the first thing you should do.
